Serial Updates
This week, we’ve got Chapter 8 of Andra Sashner’s Dragonfly and Part 2 of Megan Derr’s fairy tale, Rasnake. Check it out from the serial fiction page.
Short Story: Of the Forest by Megan Derr
If you like Megan Derr’s Bound, be sure to check out her short story Of the Forest. This short story is set in the same world as Bound, but you can read it as a stand-alone story with no problem.

Since I don’t know where to go to comment on the stories, so I just comment here for the lastest chapter of Rasnake. Please let me know if there’re more appropriate places for latter.
So, I feel confuse about Tallant (the elf) and his feeling. He seemed very close in emotion to Milton, but he was attracted to Cecil? Maybe I read too much into it, but I thought there’s something between Tallant and Milton that was more than due to they were battle bonded. There’s also the fact that Cecil was married with Princess Irene (though on the same note, Milton was in love with the Princess, might still be). I’m probably just impatient, and should wait till a few more chapters come out, but I’ll have to say, this story has a slightly different style than Megan’s previous one, in the way that it was not very clear the two lovers would be.
There’re a few spelling and grammar mistake here and there, but most of them were irrelevant. However, there’s this one sentence:
“[He was definitely as well muscled as his brother, if not more so. But like his brother, it was all tight, lean muscle. They were neither of them the sort of oversized muscle-heads that Milton liked to get into fights with when he was drunk.] They were neither of them the sort of oversized muscle-heads that Milton liked to get into fights with when he was drunk. ” I’m baffled.
Sorry for rambling so much. I’m the type that read and stay silent most of the time. I’ll leave one or two comments here or there for the stories I like, but that’s all. Hope you don’t mind.
You’re good commenting here. I’m sorry it took so long to get back to you.
Tallant and Milton are just friends/brothers. They were never intended to be more than that. It will all become clear in a few more chapters, definitely ^__^
Thanks for dropping a line!
~Meg
I don’t often comment either but I just wanted to say that I think I’ve read just about everything Megan has put out there. Each and every one is original. I love that her stories keep me guessing. To me though, I never really have to guess about the couple. There are usually a few hints as to which characters will be the main couple. My favorite thing though is that I never know how they will get together. The way that Megan weaves a story together is so amazing to me. I am always hungry for more so that I can find out how the couple gets together. :D
